Research

The Centre for Integrated Human Studies conducts research into interdisciplinary issues of human wellbeing.  Current and recent projects include:  The importance of family meals on health and wellbeing,  Stress in Japanese migrants,  Childhood obesity in Malaysia,  Lifestyle, relationships and health in Western Australian mining employees.  For descriptions of these projects, please go to our CIHS website.

As part of the EWFI initiative, the Centre plans to carry out educational research particularly on the development of tertiary curricula concerned with world futures.

In 2009, the first year of EWFI operation, Kate O'Toole completed a study  into Student engagement with world futures.

In addition, a study has commenced into the history, philosphy and pedagogy of futue-focused education.
