Information for Institutions

EWF is now invites universities to partner with it in the delivery of first year broadening units and Graduate coursework programs in Integrated Human Studies.

The 21st Century will be one of massive transition and change, in technology, lifestyles, environment and social structures, changes that will be experienced within the lifetimes of our current students.  It is vital that university education prepare students to meet these challenges: this is the goal of our unit and program offerings.

Our Integrated Human Studies units and courses present an innovative and socially relevant direction for tertiary education:

  1. They bring together the sciences, social sciences, arts and humanities to explore the complex and multifaceted issues facing humankind.
  2. They provide students with holistic understandings of themselves and their place in the world and the necessary skills and understandings for personal, academic and professional development to meet the challenges of the 21st century. Its content is future-focused and draws on authentic publications and resources provided by leading individuals and institutions concerned with human and global issues.
  3. Their educational design is grounded in current pedagogical practices and makes use a range of online technologies, such as ePortfolios and Web 2.0 applications, to facilitate personal and professional development, as well as communication and collaboration.
  4. They actively promote global citizenship through worldwide social networking and project based activities.

We invite prospective partner universities to consider running these programs and units in blended learning mode from their own campus.  We suggest a number of models of how this could be done ranging from delivering the exact program as developed at UWA to a modified program adapted to suit the region and main interests of partner universities.  A key feature of this initiative will be developing university and student networks with a real  concern for human well being and word futures.

We suggest that you examine our program and unit outlines and then contact us for further detail on the courses, how they could be adapted and how partnership can best be achieved  (contact This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
